Key of happiness is in your pocket , just kick start the bike!

Feb was a month of great surprises for me , but somehow the biker me was not happy at all , for  first time after I started riding as a serious passion in 2009 ,Feb 14 went on as a month I did not do a single long ride ... So the saddle was itching, wrists were twisting, open roads were calling and I was willing... So here it is a small write-up on my ride to the Western Ghats.

March overnighter it was with my riding pals and my riding club the RTMC , place was decided as Bhagavathi herbal resort in the heart of kudremukh forest...so the saddle was ready ,bike fuelled up , a day’s leave approved ,lets ride guys ...

As said earlier we were riding to Bhagavathi herbal resort situated in a place called Bhagavathi in kudremukh forest range .. This herbal resort maintained and managed by the Karnataka forest department is an extremely scenic resort overlooking the bhadra river in midst of the dense kudremukh Forest range .We were here to camp for a day and I was on a extended ride to cover thousand pillar Jain temple, kateel Durga parameswari temple, and the panamboor beach in Mangalore.

Bikerzzz all:)

The ride day was the 22 Saturday and I started at 6.15am to catch up with guys at the Nelamangala junction , seeing at the weather from past few weeks in Bangalore we knew its gonna be a hot day so we decided to leave early to be able to reach the place which is around 350kms from Bangalore by around noon. There were around 25 bullets and then the triumph for my company on the ride. It was a good group ride well led by my leh ride partner hunibani and backed by BMW annei . Bangalore - Hassan - belur - mudigere - kudremukh - Bhagavathi was the route we took and we reached Bhagavathi herbal resort passing through the kudremukh cheakpost by around 2pm.

We quickly freshened up and now it was time to beat the heat and take a dip in the awssm Bhadra River which was just a 100mts walk from the dormitory we stayed. So after a quick lunch we guys headed straight to the river and our customary mock session started. The best thing about such session is though you make fun of others you end up listening to such awssm ride stories and bike gyan you feel proud that you are a part of community called bikers.

Its great fun to be sober in midst of ppl drinking... I was having my part of fun when all the guys were quietly enjoying their evening drink, the best part again is the stories, we might have heard the same story many a time but still its great fun to listen to biker stories. Any non-biker reading this , try to strike a conversation with a biker and you will appreciate what I have told you just now. After great fun had my dinner and it was time for sleep.

The next day was up early to capture some photographs and I was happy that I managed to capture a decent few of them, after the breakfast it was time to say goodbye to the gang as they were heading back to Bangalore and I was as said earlier on an extended ride.

I left Bhagavathi at around 8.30am and headed towards the Jain temple town of moodabidri which is around 85kms from Bhagavathi , the ride in the ghats was awssm and I love riding in the ghats , the aderline rush you get when you bend your bike in the curve is matchless. After some thumping in the ghats reached the 1000pillar Jain temple, did a customary call to parents and to the new addon in the family my lovely fiancé and entered the Jain temple , the beautiful temple has a huge complex and is well maintained , after a few photographs in the temple I came to hear a group of cyclists from Mangalore inspecting my bike and one among them telling ' EE bike ladakh ge hoyittu maraya , Alli flag kantilya' (this bike has gone to ladakh, cant u see the flag) , me also being a budding cyclist was nice to see these guys cycling all along in the beating sun. I spent a few mins with them and headed to Kateel Durgaparameshwari temple .

The temple town of kateel is around 27kms from moodabidre and the residing deity is Durga , I was lucky enough to catch the aarthi done the goddess , I bowed down to mother universe for all that she has given and after the customary teertha prasadam headed towards the coastal town of Mangalore.
Mangalore is just 33kms from kateel but the humidity was unbearable, with all the riding gears we bikers wear the heat was something I started to hate. After reaching Mangalore checked into a hotel , took bath , had lunch, set my alarm for 5pm and zzzzzz...

As the alarm rang packed my camera bag and headed straight to the panamboor beach 9 kms from the Mangalore city , reached the beach by around 5.30pm and it was time to take few photographs. I love photographing in the beaches , the sheer beauty of the sunset, the waves sets a great tone for photography. After photographing a few good landscapes , had pizza as my dinner , set the alarm for 3.45am and. Zzzzzzz

On the 24th morning got up at 3.45 and started my ride back to Bangalore at around 4.30am, it was magical riding along the breathtaking landscapes of shiradi ghat . My first break was at sakleshpur for a morning tea , then stopped at Kamath in channarayapatna for breakfast and one last break before nelamangala for a leak and I was back home by 11.30am
So that's about it , until you beautiful ppl get to read my next blog , let god be with you. Be well
